"Why are you sorry? This wasn't your idea," she says just as gently, finally putting the fire away with a sigh, crossing her arms over her chest with a frown, shooting Xavier and crew a dirty look.

"I know you were. You always do, and you do a better job than others. It's just stupid that you never go the chance to."

When the flames finally go out, he takes her hand and pulls her out of Xavier's office. He heads straight for the forge out back. When they're shut in there, the door blocking out everyone, he sighs. "Charlie, this whole damned thing is a mess. But they might need a welder. And I can do that, and with my power..." His gloves creak. His power is so deadly, so dangerous. And they doubt he'll ever have control.

"With my power, if something I can do can save lives? I have to." He's nineteen, and terrified that all he'll ever be is a killer. His power is terrible for anyone to deal with, but she's never been afraid of him, never been afraid of the power. Respectful, yes, but not afraid. "I can't do it with my powers, but with my skills, I can help. I'm going to."
