An Open RP Post!
There are prompts below. Pictures. Music Videos. Quotes. I lied, none of those made it on here for now. If none of those work for you, please feel free to start your own! This is the chattiest Charlie has been in a while, and I've missed playing my feral pyrokinetic teenager.

Kevin would take on every single one of them, all at the same time, as long as Charlie wasn't basically on fire right now. He knows that the idiots probably deserve it, but setting Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr on fire is not a good idea.
"Charlie." He says, quietly, knowing that they need to diffuse this situation. Yes, they could have told her that he was leaving a bit better. And yeah, this mission is not a good one. And no, she can't come along. "Charlie, come on." He says softly.
He doesn't want to go to space, and help out the Shi'ar, but this is not a mission where her powers would be helpful. His aren't either. but he's a welder, before he's a blacksmith. And they might need that skill. Though the dire way they put it, probably irritated Charlie.

Pissed.
Infuriated. And yeah, on fire. Nothing around her is burning because she's keeping it controlled, at the very least. But she is absolutely a bright, burning ball of Very Pissed Off Eighteen Year Old Girl.
She doesn't know what Kevin is to her, not yet. But she knows he's the most important person to her in this stupid building, so the idea of him going somewhere dangerous? Not flying with her.
"This is bullshit," she finally manages to hiss out. The flames lower, sure, but they don't entirely go out. That won't be for a while.
"They gave you one hour to get ready," she says, which isn't what's pissing her off. "And they barely delivered the news to anyone else with a shred of tact."
There it is. That's what's upsetting her. Someone came up to her and said 'hey kevin is going somewhere dangerous in a few minutes. what do you want for dinner?' and Charlie lost her shit.
That's how they got into this situation.

He sighs. "Charlie, I'm sorry." He says, gently. "I was gonna tell you." He says, gently.
He likes her. She spends time in the forge, and lets him work, but is there if he needs someone to talk to. But she's okay if he doesn't want to talk at all. She's also a great cook. Between the two of them, and a few others, there are decent meals put out for people. ANd there's always something in the freezer for everyone.

"I know you were. You always do, and you do a better job than others. It's just stupid that you never go the chance to."

"With my power, if something I can do can save lives? I have to." He's nineteen, and terrified that all he'll ever be is a killer. His power is terrible for anyone to deal with, but she's never been afraid of him, never been afraid of the power. Respectful, yes, but not afraid. "I can't do it with my powers, but with my skills, I can help. I'm going to."
Conduit AU 1
Once upon a time, Nix would have left the young blood on their own - but Cole McGrath had to ask her to help. He'd gotten himself tangled up with a bunch of stupid kids and the government in Seattle which left her and Zeke to clean up on the East Coast.
She couldn't say no to her Demon, not even for a second - so while she groused and grumbled off she went.
The reason why she had gone and not Zeke, was while that man was way better at being a face, Nix could take a hit. Didn't want to leave anything to chance with a proper Fire Conduit running around. And shit this kid had to be powerful. True fire in a conduit was rare; it was either oil or smoke or magma.
But whoever this was..they were something special.
And young.
Nix eyed the silhouette of the young lady before her, backlit by terrible flames.
"Easy there, firebug." There was nothing overly cautious in the older conduit's approach, except maybe the speed.
"Feds only gonna be distracted for so long. Let's you and me talk."
Re: Conduit AU 1
"I'm not worried about the Feds," Charlie says with the tone of someone who knows there are bigger monsters out there and the Feds, comparatively, are just angry teething puppies who trip over their own big paws. To the girl in question, there are. She's been dealing with them for months, now, starting with the ones in Longmont, West Virginia and making her way down the coast.
Not with any intent to hurt anyone. It's just what happens when people don't leave well enough alone. And then she gets tired of being chased and shot at and listening to empty promises of "we're not gonna hurt you, Charlie, we just want to talk." But it was always lies, so when this woman says she wants to talk?
There's a moment when the pharmaceutical lab burns just a little brighter, a brilliant red fire shot with blue and white for just a second as Charlie looks at the woman over her shoulder.
She is very suspicious, that much is so very clear.
"Talk about what?" The cautious approach from the other conduit is helping some, but not enough for Charlie to start talking just yet.
Re: Conduit AU 1
It takes self-control in a full suit to keep from luxuriating in the heat of a proper fire. Still, Nix is careful in her approach - passing from one side of the young woman to the other in a serpentine mass of black oil.
"They're like you and me, kid."
And Kuo and this Augustine cat up in Seattle. Everyone's trying to live, everyone is trying to get or be free but it takes a special kind of bastard to sell your own folks out. These are the people hunting the new blood, a thief to catch a thief and Cole's been telling her about the kind of traps they've been setting for their meta-genetic kin.
"And they'll tell you they know what it's like, that you just need to listen to them."
Her voice is still thick, like oil as she settles back into corporeal form. Nix's glance flicks from the girl to the lab and she can't help but wonder if she knows the flying trick just yet.
"I ain't selling. Just thought you might like a warning."
Re: Conduit AU 1
She liked surviving. And she didn't think she'd survive there.
She turns to watch Nix move, the way she flows around her and assumes right off this woman is like her. A Conduit.
So, that's interesting. And it helps when she says she's not selling.
"I appreciate the warning." It's as close to a thanks as she's going to get at the moment. "Who are you?"
Re: Conduit AU 1
"Got it in one."
Nix can't help how pleased she feels, not when this new crop of conduits has a better head than the last. Idly, she finds herself stretching and easing closer to the bits of concrete of the burning building.
"M'name's Nix. I run with the Demon of Empire City, if you ever heard of him."
